Derek James McNab promoted to Managing Director

The Board of Directors of Mabbett is pleased to announce that Mr Derek James McNab (Derek), a Paisley born, Glasgow educated engineer and long standing member of the firm has been promoted to Managing Director.
Derek is not only a key member of the firm but is also a well recognised and respected chartered engineering professional. Derek is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, Chairman of the IChemE Scottish Members Group, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde, Department of Chemical and Process Engineering.
On announcing Derek’s promotion to Managing Director, Mary Winstanley O’Connor, Esq. Since joining the firm in 2000, Derek has proved himself to be a most professional, competent, dedicated and committed member and leader of the firm. He is a multi-disciplined and chartered professional. Derek will henceforth, be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the firm as it continues to serve its clients within the U.K. and the E.U. Most recently and with the assistance of Scottish Enterprise, Derek led the firm’s expansion to England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland. I am most confident that Derek will continue to serve the firm admirably as its new Managing Director. The Board of Directors and I wish Derek continued success.”
Derek, a chemical engineering graduate from the University of Strathclyde joined the firm in 2000, as an Environmental Engineer. Derek was progressively promoted within the firm and most recently served as the firm’s General Manager and in 2010 was elected a Director of the firm. Due to his efforts, the firm has become a well recognised and leading environmental, engineering, health and safety, and sustainable energy consultancy, demonstrated by its strong and loyal client base and the professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm of his fellow colleagues.
