HSE launches new online guidance for health surveillance

The HSE has published new online guidance to replace HSG61 “Health Surveillance at Work”, which was withdrawn in March 2013.

Health surveillance may be required by law for employees who are exposed to or at risk from noise or vibration, airborne substances (e.g. solvents, fumes, dusts), biological agents and other substances hazardous to health.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have launched new clear and simple online guidance on health surveillance at work, making it easier for employers to understand what they need to do to check and protect the health of their workforce to include: deciding whether or not there is a requirement to conduct health surveillance, and if so, how to go about it and interpret the results. Click here to visit the online guidance.
