Another IMS Success Story for Mabbett

Mabbett are delighted to announce that Westica Communications Ltd (Westica) have been recommended for certification of their Integrated Management System (IMS) to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.

Westica design, manufacture and install the latest technology radio transmission products from their headquarters in Glasgow. They recognised the increased business opportunities that were possible from certifying their business proceses as well as demonstrating to customers their commitment to providing high quality products and services. The integrated IMS approach also means that the company has been able to raise its environmental awareness and continue its strong health and safety focus. Through the company Account Management Support Team at Scottish Enterprise (SE), Westica were able to successfully apply for grant support to assist with the consultancy used for this project.

Working alongside Martin McGahon, Business Development Manager at Westica, Mabbett assisted with the full development and implementation of three management systems: ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.

The project commenced with a business review and systems gap analysis against each of the three systems to prepare an action plan for implementation to ensure that the IMS would be aligned with business operations and processes. Mabbett then assisted with production of core IMS documentation: policies; manual, and procedures. IMS Auditor Training was provided and Mabbett also provided some guidance during the external IMS certification audit undertaken with NQA.

Although an average IMS may take 9-12 months to complete, the IMS for Westica was developed and successfully achieved certification within a tight timescale of 4 months.
