Our team can provide a CEMP tailored to your site-specific requirements and/ or planning conditions, and we can advise on the need of specialist supporting reports which may be needed.

A Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) is used to highlight how construction works are managed to avoid, minimise or mitigate pollution risks to the environment.

Often a CEMP is required as part of a Planning Application to show how construction works will be managed to limit impact to the environment.

The CEMP can be a specific condition of planning permission that is granted for a proposed development. An Outline CEMP can also be developed to support a planning application.

What is included in our CEMP services?

We can provide a Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) or certain chapters tailored to site specific requirements. The content will vary by development, but the CEMP can include the following:

  • Emergency response plans
  • Air quality and dust management plan
  • Water management plan
  • Soil management plan
  • Ecological management plan
  • Tree protection plan
  • Habitat management plan
  • Archaeology and cultural heritage
  • Construction noise and vibration management plan
  • Construction traffic management plan.

The information needed in the CEMP is not exhaustive, and our team can tailor the document so that is specific to the requirements of your site.

Environmental Management Plans for construction

Why is a CEMP needed?

A CEMP will demonstrate to the Local Planning Authority and/ or key stakeholders what measures will be in place to remove, minimise or manage construction impacts to the environment or to local amenities (traffic, residents etc.).

The document will also comprise a summary of the findings from environmental surveys undertaken for a development and can be updated as new information is obtained.
