Mabbett is retained to deliver business improvement programme
6th February 2012
Mabbett recently participated in a competitive tender process and was retained to deliver a three year business improvement programme – BITES (Business Improvements Through Environmental Solutions) to businesses in Northern Ireland.
Mabbett has delivered the BITES programme to businesses within the Belfast City Council area for the last two years and due to the programme success the programme has been extended to the borough council areas of: Carrickfergus, Lisburn and Newtownabbey where up to thirty-five businesses per year across the four council areas will have an opportunity to participate in the BITES programme.
BITES is a one-year programme delivered through a series of business improvement workshops and one-to-one site specific implementation support, which helps businesses to identify opportunities to reduce their use of and better manage resources like materials, water, waste and energy which will lead to increasing profits and improved business competitiveness and sustainability. To date twenty-two firms have now completed the programme and collectively have identified in excess of £320,000 of resource savings through reduced resource consumption and improved management.
On award of the contract Derek J. McNab, Managing Director at Mabbett, commented: “Mabbett are delighted to have retained the contract for delivery of the BITES programme. It is a testament to the programmes success that it has now been extended to a further three council areas in Northern Ireland and also serves to demonstrate the importance placed by businesses on their competitiveness and sustainability through improved resource efficiency and management. Mabbett look forward to working with each of the four council partners to deliver a successful programme.”
