National Recycle Week 2013

17th June 2013

The aim of Recycle Week is to show appreciation for the Nation’s recycling efforts and to encourage more recycling both at home and within business. This year the theme is ‘Recycling – home and away’ and focuses on metals, plastics, packaging and food waste. National Recycle Week which runs from 17-23 June 2013 and celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Recycle Week provides an excellent opportunity for you to engage with your staff and customers by raising awareness of your company recycling activities and achievements. It is also a great time for your company to begin recycling or start a new recycling activity. Why is it important for my business to recycle or to increase recycling?

By 01 January 2014 businesses in Scotland will be required to segregate paper, metal, plastic and glass for separate collection by law, under The Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland the same will be required of businesses by 01 January 2015.

Recycle Week is an opportune time for your business to take a proactive and planned approach to waste management.
