Mabbett in the Caribbean!

At Mabbett, we are passionate about playing a key role in Scotland’s transition to a low carbon economy having provided the public, private and third sector with energy efficiency advice and support for over 20 years.  Utilising this experience, Mabbett recently competed for a project through the Caribbean Development Bank on behalf of The Ministry of Finance and Energy in Grenada and we were proud to win this tender competition.  The project was to deliver energy audits for a range of public buildings on the Caribbean island to support its National Energy Policy and builds upon our experience of developing and delivering training courses in energy auditing at the University of the West Indies and University of Technology in Jamaica.

Mabbetteers Andy Lee, Ross Ramsay, Arrate Gomez and John Fergusson, supported by Jamaican energy consultant Phillip Thomas, were part of our technical audit team who have helped support Grenada become more sustainable by helping to address their energy security challenges which are largely related to the high price and volatility of imported fossil-based energy.

Andy Lee, Director of Engineering at Mabbett said ‘working in Grenada with my team has been a hugely satisfying experience.  Not only have we supported the country with its National Energy Policy and becoming more sustainable as an island but we have also provided our team with the opportunity to work overseas in such a magnificent location’.
