The European Week for Safety and Health at Work, 19-25 October 2015.
21st October 2015
Throughout this week for Safety and Health at Work, hundreds of awareness-raising events are taking place throughout Europe to highlight occupational safety and health issues.
At Mabbett, we are conscious of our responsibility to take care of our employees and clients. An example of this is having put in place various procedures and activities to successfully achieve the Bronze Award of the Healthy Working Lives initiative. We are striving to continually address our responsibilities by progressing towards the Silver Award.
Mabbett would like to spread the word and highlight some free resources from the EU–OSHA’s campaign ’Healthy workplaces manage stress‘.
There are many interesting and helpful articles available to support both ourselves and those around us. The EU estimates suggest that 25 % of citizens will experience a mental health problem in their lifetime, often due to the result of bad management of psychosocial risks such as poor work-design and high workloads. However, it has also been shown that successful promotion of mental health has reduced the costs of absenteeism and associated management time (Healthy Workplaces, October 2015).
We supports The European Week for Safety and Health at Work and we’d encourage you to check out the resources and do what you can!
